| I'm currently watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. I'm about to watch episode 15, and so far I'm really enjoying it, if a little confused at the 'restarting'. In the queue for downloading:

| I'll just start out with a list of anime I recommend. Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu(The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan(Club to Death Angel Dokuro-chan) Death Note(Death Note) Kanon(Kanon) Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Series(When They Cry Series) Umineko No Naku Koro Ni(When Seagulls Cry) Rozen Maiden(Rozen Maiden) Durarara(Durarara)
These are all I can think of right now.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai Death Note Sola Gunslinger Girl Time to use my knowledge of Japan. In Japan, there's a kind of game called 'visual novels'. They are basically virtual books with several endings. They are commonly love stories, and each different ending is usually about a specific character in the game. For example, in Kanon, the five different endings involve falling in love with either Nayuki, Ayu, Makoto, Mai, or Shiori. Higurashi was originally a visual novel, a groundbreaking one, being the first non-love visual novel, so the different endings would be alternate culprits.

| Subject: Vocaloid Thu Aug 02, 2012 8:13 am | |
| I'm just going to explain Vocaloid because I can. If you think I do a bad job, then Wikipedia it(I love how you can turn a noun into a verb). Vocaloid is a vocal synthesizer. It was invented by a university in Spain. It was made popular by the Japanese, though. There are many different Vocaloids, each with their own unique voice. Vocaloids usually get their voice from professional singers or voice actors. However, Vocaloids such as Leon and Lola, have never had their voice providers published, so their voice providers may be random people picked off the street. Vocaloids are popular used to sing songs that tell complex stories. Many of these songs have to do with murder/death/supernatural events. Since there are so many Vocaloids, people can write complex stories that involve all the Vocaloids acting as people. A notable one of these is The Evillious Chronicles, by Mothy. To date, there are Vocaloids in English, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Spanish. I've written far too much. As I write this, one of my teeth is making a 20 degree turn. That's it. | |

| Finished Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, and watched 5 or 6 episodes of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, and so far I've figured out that Rika knows that everything 'restarts' and that Keiichi kind of knows. | |

| Like 'Desu' and all that, yeah, that's quite strange. Also, a thing I'm confused about, is that on a site, it says that Rika's catchphrase is 'nano desu', but I've never heard her say that. I heard her say 'desu' a couple of times, but never 'nano desu'. The only character that really has a catchphrase (that I see) is Rena, since she thinks that everything's cute, and she wants to take them home. | |

| 'Nano desu' is a much more polite way of ending a sentence in Japanese. It's true that Rika says it, but not quite as much as another character related to Rika who I won't name for spoilers. Their name is - Spoiler:
Hanyuu

| One thing that bothers me about anime is character ages, it's confusing a lot of the time. For instance, I thought that Rika and Satoko were both about 5, but apparently they're both around 12/13. I mean, THEY LOOK TINY. I thought Rena was about 12, but she's 15. The only character I was right about was Mion, I guessed around 16 and she's 17. | |

Hanyuu . I'm assuming you mean that ghost thing that follows her, 'Hanyuu' or something like that. I've watched about 8 episodes of 'Kai'.

| Another thing that, well, it doesn't confuse me, but it's strange, in the first series of Higurashi, each character had their own 'story', apart from Satoko (and Rika, although her story is in the 2nd series). Does she get her own in the 2nd, or is the 2nd ALL just Rika? | |
