| SOLA Well then, just finished watching it, so I'll make a good review while it's still fresh in my mind. Sola is about a 'Yaka' (a being that can make others come back to life, only to turn them into Yaka's, they also cannot be out in the sun, or it burns them) named Matsuri, a boy called Yorito, and his sister, Aono, who is also a Yaka. Click here for a decent plot summaryI would give this about an 8.5/10. The characters within the story are well developed, and the voice actors do a great job conveying emotion. Music is also used extremely well, and help bring a tear to your eye. For me, the plot confused me at times, and by the end of the series, there were somethings that I was still questioning (although this could just be me being a moron who doesn't properly understand it ). The actual storyline is very well thought out and quite unique, and there are some amazing scenes (especially fight scenes). I would recommend this to anime fans, and it's true, it does have a kind of 'Elfen Lied' feel to it. In terms of the 2 OVA's, they were a little strange, especially the first one, it actually reminded me of the first episode of 'Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai'. It was also a piss-take, a little ecchi. As a whole, it was very enjoyable with an excellent, albeit, slightly confusing storyline. | |
